Travel Grants Available for Postdocs and Students Attending AGU, AAAS, AMS, or AAG

Are you a student or postdoc looking to enhance your career by attending the AAAS, AMS, AGU, or AAG conference this year? The South Central Climate Science Center invites graduate students, postdocs, and undergraduate students attending one of these meetings to apply for travel support.

We will have 15 travel grants available, not to exceed $1000 each.

Eligibility

To be eligible for a South Central CSC travel grant, you must be:

• Currently enrolled as a full-time student or postdoc at one of the South Central Climate Science Center consortium institutions: Texas Tech, Univ. of Oklahoma, Oklahoma State University, or Louisiana State University
• Presenting/actively working on climate-related research (including hydrology, biology, engineering, geography, anthropology, etc.)
• Receiving no full travel support from your institution

Preference will be given to the following (in this specific order):

1. Graduate students with accepted abstracts to present their work (oral or poster)
2. Postdocs and undergraduates with accepted abstracts to present their work (oral or poster)
3. Graduate students participating but not presenting
4. Undergraduate students participating but not presenting

How to Apply for a Conference Travel Grant

If interested, please email .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) with your name, selected conference, and a brief paragraph on how this travel grant would help you. If you are planning to present, you must also email us a copy of your abstract acceptance. If chosen, the recipient will be responsible for paying for costs up-front and the Center will reimburse you up to $1000 following the conference.

Applications should be submitted at least one month before the conference start date. Candidates who submit their applications prior to the conference early bird registration deadline will be given priority.
