In early November, students and post-docs from across the South Central CSC consortium attended the first ever National Climate Science Center Early Career Training in Amherst, Massachusets. Participants included young professionals from all eight Climate Science Centers, representing every region of the country and disciplines from meteorology to psychology. The training focused on giving participants practical knowledge about science co-production and stakeholder engagement as well as effective science communication. Participants practiced what they learned through hands-on exercises and group discussions. They also had the opportunity to network with experts in their fields who attended the training as presenters and facilitators.
Thanks to everyone who worked tirelessly to plan this event and to the Northeast Climate Science Center at UMass Amherst for hosting our early career consortium members!
